Why use Subdomains

admin | March 23, 2010 | 2:49 pm

By shortening the length of a URL you can make access to parts of your site easier by using your Cpanel to set up a subdomain.  The Cpanel creates subfolders within the root path pointing out a subfolder for a specific word within the domain name.  It is an invaluable tool for large sites.  If you think of your site as a library room, the subdomains are then the information being in sections within it, then the shelves are the subfolder within the subdomain root path.

Microsoft FrontPage Extensions

admin | March 23, 2010 | 2:46 pm

Microsoft’s FrontPage is a web-development application which you can use to create your website.  Microsoft FrontPage is pre-installed on some computers but if not it will have to be purchased and installed to use.  Enabling FrontPage Extensions on your cPanel does not install Microsoft FrontPage on your computer.  Using Microsoft FrontPage Extensions tells the server that FrontPage will be used to perform certain functions instead of the Control Panel Options e.g. Redirect URL, Mime Types and Protect Directories.

You can enable and disable MS Frontpage through the cPanel account by selecting the MS FrontPage icon, this will then display the Manager.

Fantastico

admin | March 23, 2010 | 2:23 pm

Is an external library of scripts by Netenberg which is an addon to cPanel.

Use Fanastico to keep your site protected and secure, it is updated regularly by its provider Netenberg and our server will automatically check for these updates. Script updates can be released with security in mind so you should confirm that the one on your cPanel is the most upto date available.
