Do You Offer MSSQL Databases?

admin | September 8, 2009 | 4:56 pm

We currently have MS SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 server.

These can be added to your hosting package by logging in to the client area at http://www.layersevenhosting.com/order/ then selecting My Products & Service from the menu. Select “More Options”, and then scroll down to “Account Addons”

You can then select either MSSQL 2000 or MSSQL 2005, and choose either monthly or annual payments.

Database size counts towards your web hosting package allowance.

How do I make a backup copy of my database? (MySQL / Cpanel)

admin | September 8, 2009 | 4:54 pm

The following instructions are shown how to create personal backup copies of your Databases.

- MS Access

To Create backups of your MS Access Database, open a FTP Application and connect to ftp.layersevenhosting.com with your FTP Login details. Download the DB (Database) Folder. This will then transfer the database to your chosen destination. If you store your database in a different folder, then you will need to make the appropriate changes to the folder you download.

- MS SQL 2005 + 2000

It is not currently possible for users to create their own backups of SQL Server databases. If you require a backup/restore of your database, please contact Layerseven support.

- MySQL on Windows Servers

To Backup a copy of a MySQL Database, login to PHP MySQL Admin at http://mysql.layersevenhosting.com, using your MySQL Database username and password.

Select the option named Export. Click the database name (or select all) then select all the additional options you wish to backup then click on GO.

We recommend the download and use of HeidiSQL to manage your MySQL databases – http://www.heidisql.com

All Databases are backed up everynight. If you have lost your database and would like data to be restored just give us a call.
